What exactly does that look like? Here are my top 3 tips!

.1. Prepare & Set Clear Goals: Research the event, speakers, and attendees beforehand. Define what you want to achieve (for example, learn a skill, meet 5 potential clients, or find a mentor). Bring business cards, create a QR code, a notebook, and/or prepare an elevator pitch.

.2. Network Strategically: Focus on quality over quantity—build genuine connections rather than collecting contacts. Ask insightful questions during Q&A sessions to stand out. Follow up within 48 hours with a personalized message (phone call, text, email, LinkedIn). Create a follow up template for networking to make engagement easier.

.3. Actively Participate & Take Action: Engage in discussions, workshops, and breakout sessions—don’t just passively listen. Take notes on key takeaways and implement at least 1-2 ideas immediately after the event. Share insights on social media (tag speakers/companies) to reinforce relationships.
